FORECAST MUSIC - 2006 CALL FOR SCORES RESULTS
Forecast Music is excited and pleased to announce the winners of our 2006 Call for Scores. Thanks for your patience during this long review process. This year we received 205 applications from the United States, Albania, Australia, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, England, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Israel, and Italy (virtually all submissions included two scores.) After many long listening sessions and numerous hours of administration, the following composers were selected for our concert this winter:
Winners:
Karim Al-Zand (USA): Four Fables for flute, clarinet, and piano.
Mike McFerron (USA): Torrid Mix for piano and electroacoustic tape.
Honorable Mention (in alphabetical order):
Moritz Eggert (Germany): Fast Forward for cello and piano.
Manolis Manousakis (Greece): Stench on a White Shirt, With Video Art by Panayotis Goumbouros.
Lansing McLoskey (USA): Requiem, v.2.001v for flute, clarinet, violin, cello, piano and percussion.
Andrian Pertout (Australia): Seeds of Passion for solo cello.
Thanks to each and all for the overwhelming response to this year's call. We had a wonderful time listening to the submissions and a difficult time making the final decisions.
We look forward to next year's call.
